Review by hotel critic
During my recent weekend getaway in Budapest, I found myself at Bauhaus Astoria Hostel, a gem nestled in the Erzsébetváros district. For just 16 euros, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent price-to-value ratio. The hostel's clean and well-maintained shared spaces, including a fully-equipped kitchen and a cozy lounge, made it perfect for my quick stay with a couple of fellow travelers before our early morning flight. The location couldn't be better; just a stone's throw from the heart of the city, we had the luxury of exploring nearby attractions like the Hungarian State Opera and the iconic Chain Bridge on foot. One of the highlights was how the building itself had a charming historical vibe, which made our stay feel even more special. I also appreciated that the WiFi was free throughout the property—a nice touch for those of us needing to share updates for our travel blogs. Plus, the host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable night’s rest. While it may not be a luxury hotel, Bauhaus Astoria Hostel delivers on all the essential comforts and the authentic Budapest experience, perfect for adventurers like me.
